Nicole Tibbetts, M.Sc

Nicole Tibbetts, M.Sc. is a psychologist on the candidate register; she completed her undergraduate education at Saint Mary’s University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science, Honors in Psychology and then went onto obtain her Master’s degree at Acadia University in Clinical Psychology. She has gone on to teach at Acadia University as a part-time lecturer and continues to conduct research at the university. Nicole has wide history working with youth and young adults; she has been a youth worker and has worked at a local domestic violence shelter. She completed her clinical placements at the IWK Youth Forensics Unit, the IWK Initiative for Sexually Aggressive Youth (ISAY), and within private practice Bower Jacquard Psychological Inc.

Nicole has experience providing individual therapy, group therapy and assessments to youth and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, ADHD, interpersonal relationships, self-harm, phobias and obsessive-compulsive disorder. She takes a collaborative and empathetic approach, ensuring to provide evidence-based treatment; She caters her approach to the client’s needs to help them build self-awareness and learn new coping strategies. Nicole is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
