Sarah Osborne is a Registered Counselling Therapist with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists and a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist with the Ontario Expressive Arts Therapy Association. After completing a dual-Masters program in Expressive Arts Therapy and Psychology from the European Graduate School with a Graduate Certification in Child and Youth Mental Health from Thompson Rivers University, Sarah began her career working abroad in Swaziland, Africa working with children and families affected by AIDS, HIV, Tuberculosis and various forms of trauma. This experience enabled her to utilize her training in the arts therapies. After returning to Canada, Sarah worked for the Canadian Mental Health Association where she supported youth between ages 13 – 29 with various mental health needs using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Throughout the years she has become interested in the study of trauma and is currently enrolled in becoming certified in Trauma-informed Therapy. Sarah has facilitated a series of arts therapy groups with veterans living with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Sarah looks forward to continuing to practice psychotherapy with Bower-Jacquard Psychological Services using a person-centred approach. Sarah views therapy as a partnership where therapist and client work towards finding solutions to achieve a better quality of life.
